About Gyanodaya Trust

BIT Mesra (Ranchi) 1997-2001 Engineering Batch is celebrating over two decades of Camaraderie and Association.

The recent pandemic has allowed us an opportunity to reach out and connect back with our batchmates. As we reconnect, rewind and unwind and further strengthen our bond, we are dedicating the silver jubilee reunion for a noble cause. Having had our own journeys, getting connected back together has promoted passionate conversations on how we, as a batch, should espouse a meaningful cause to lend support to.

With the objective of creating a positive impact in the community in and around the BIT Mesra campus and Society at large Gyanodaya Trust has been founded. We wish to create our own proof of concept before we take larger leaps of faith and Gyanodaya Trust is our first step in the direction of creating meaningful social impact.

GYANODAYA TRUST is a platform for our batch to give back to the society.

Connecting Back with the Temple of Knowledge

Our Cause

We have studied the workings of the Kisalaya Vidya Mandir Education Society (KVMES) on the BIT campus. Their cause and passion resonates with us as a batch. Hence, we have decided to support KVMES.

Our assistance will enable the school's sustenance and growth.

Our association with the school started with our connection with Late Prof. Rakesh Popli.

A champion of Physics, he was associated with NCC and extremely passionate about societal causes. His teachings and his passion have stayed with us.As we started evaluating several projects this definitely was close to our heart.

In 1983, Dr Rakesh Popli and Mrs Rama Popli initiated the education work at Bishunpur, Dist. Gumla, the tribal belt of Bihar. In 1987, their efforts spread to the BIT Campus and translated into a humble school which started with 13 children enrolled. BIT Mesra supported the school with the contribution of 2 Acres of land and basic infrastructure. It continues to be a part of the several BIT CSR initiatives.

The school's system of learning is unique and innovative. It is based on Mind Opening Techniques (P-MOT) and is derived from the age-old Indian knowledge treasures of Rishi Panini (2900 BC).

Today, in 2022, the school is operational till Grade 5 and has around 250 students. Our intent is to support the school in its sustenance and grow it from strength to strength.
